Kaden Honeycutt’s Victory Lane interview at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park

BROWNSBURG, Ind. – Kaden Honeycutt wants everyone to recognize the excellence of Cook Racing Technologies.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular has frequently raced for team owner Bruce Cook on the ARCA platform since 2023. Each time he takes the wheel of Cook’s No. 17, he becomes a strong contender for victory.

This narrative held true Friday evening at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park as Honeycutt fended off a persistent Carson Brown amid lapped traffic to secure his second ARCA Menards Series win of the season in the LiUNA! 150 presented by IDEAL Garage Door.

“I’m just so proud of everyone at Cook Racing Technologies,” Honeycutt expressed. “This is all for Bruce Cook. I hope this demonstrates to them that they can compete at this level and defeat these competitors.”

Honeycutt qualified seventh for Friday’s 150-lap event, a combined race with the ARCA Menards Series East. He spent the first half of the race battling within the top five while polesitter Brown maintained the lead. After the race break at Lap 72, Honeycutt began his pursuit and started challenging Brown for the lead.

Despite Brown’s efforts, Honeycutt overtook him for the lead on Lap 78. Several caution periods followed, keeping the lead contest between Honeycutt and Brown intense.

Brown briefly reclaimed the lead with 12 laps remaining as he and Honeycutt navigated slower traffic, but Honeycutt reversed the situation, using the same traffic to regain the lead a lap later.

Shortly after, Brown’s engine unexpectedly shut off momentarily, allowing Honeycutt to secure his second ARCA Menards Series win of the season and his career.

“Carson and I had an incredible race,” Honeycutt said. “I’m not sure what happened to him, but I regret that it occurred. It was chaotic through lapped traffic. I had to bump one guy and I apologize for that, but I had to push forward.

“It was amazing. I gained some valuable experience over a few hours.”

After the ARCA race, Honeycutt focused on the evening’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race. The last time he competed in both the ARCA Menards Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on the same day at Watkins Glen International, he won both events.

“It’s going to be more challenging,” Honeycutt remarked. “We had a decent practice. It wasn’t perfect, but I’m confident that Scott Zipadelli and my team will make the best adjustments for the start of this race in a few hours.”

Thomas Annunziata finished second at Lucas Oil IRP, gaining crucial ground in his quest for the ARCA Menards Series championship. With Jake Bollman’s seventh-place finish, Bollman now leads Annunziata by just three points with seven races remaining in the season.

Brown finished third after leading the most laps Friday evening, followed by Gavan Boschele and Isaac Kitzmiller.
